Jan 07, 2014 -- 5:41pm

I gotta hand it to the folks in warm weather climates. While I certainly enjoy visiting their fair-weather'd areas, they certainly can be whiny pansies! Take a look at this video from Jimmy KImmel! They'd never make it here in Chicagoland.....

Recycle your old Christmas lights!

Dec 04, 2013 -- 2:27pm

Lisle Partners for Park Foundation will recycle your old lights that don’t work. “We’ll take lights and extension cords, which will be collected at one of three sites in the village from now through Feb. 1 of next year,” said Rachel Staats, marketing and communications consultant for the Lisle Park District. “This is all part of our ‘Go Green’ and ‘Earth Flag’ initiatives, which include recycling paper, used athletic shoes and crayons.”

Drop-off areas include the Recreation Center, 1925 Ohio St.: from 8:30 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday; and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Used lights may also be brought to the Community Center, 1825 Short St.: from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; and from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays and Sunday.

Authorities in Washington, D.C. say Maurice Owens faked his own fall in the D.C. metro system. Owens told police back in August that he slipped on a banana peel as he was getting off an elevator and sued for $15,000. A security video, however, shows Owens looking up at the security camera in the elevator, then he drops a banana peel on the floor, and then he slips on it. Owens has been charged with second-degree fraud. Check out the video!

65% of Us Are More Excited for Thanksgiving Leftovers Than Thanksgiving Dinner

Nov 22, 2013 -- 5:24pm

According to a new poll, 65% of us are more excited about Thanksgiving LEFTOVERS than Thanksgiving DINNER.  And not surprisingly, the TURKEY is what we're looking forward to the most, followed by stuffing, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, sweet potatoes, and cranberry sauce.

78% of Americans prefer eating at home over going to a restaurant on Thanksgiving Day.  Mostly because there'd be fewer eyewitnesses at home when they put an extended family member in a chokehold!
