The next time you travel I-55, you may notice a new name in the coming weeks.
A joint resolution passed the General Assembly to designate about an 80-mile section of I-55 between the Tri-State Tollway (I-294) and mile marker 202 near Pontiac, Illinois as the Barack Obama Presidential Expressway.
I-55 from the Tri-State to Lake Shore Drive is named after Adlai Stevenson, a U.N. Ambassador and 31st Governor of Illinois.
