Award winning kids

As summer break has started for many kids, it was great to see all their hard work pay off.  Like those eight kids winning the National Spelling Bee and scoring $50,000 each!

I also attended my son’s Award Ceremony at his school earlier this week.  Very proud that the kid was recognized for winning his school’s Geography Bee!  It must be because he loves maps and so does his former traffic reporter mom…just sayin.

They also had a very unique award I never heard of before and I think it is just fantastic; the Good Handwriting Award.  Seriously.  Have you seen a middle school kid’s handwriting?  But a quite a handful of kids won the Good Handwriting Award; I also suspect none of those winners are interested in becoming doctors…
