By now, you’ve probably pulled out all of your Christmas decorations and you discovered you put away broken lights last year.  What do you do with them?

Will County residents can dispose of them safely at one of four recycling locations.

It’s a safer way of getting rid of them for everyone involved including the non-human Will County residents.  String lights take hundreds or thousands of years to decompose contain chemicals that are hazardous to the water and soil. Animals, domestic or wild, can also get into trash receptacles, become entangled in the lights and strangle themselves.

Now if they can just provide a solution to untangling my working lights…
