In the same way the “Guardians of the Galaxy” flicks are making ’70s pop cool again, “Captain Marvel” is breathing new life into the ’90s.

The movie is set in that decade, so its music is all over the soundtrack.  Songs include “Only Happy When It Rains” by Garbage, “Come as You Are” by Nirvana, “Just a Girl” by No Doubt, and “Whatta Man” by Salt-N-Pepa.

The 13 pop, rock, and rap tracks in the movie saw an average 464% increase in sales after just its first weekend in theaters.

HOLE’s “Celebrity Skin” was the biggest gainer, with a 2,222% increase.
