Carrie Underwood’s ‘Before He Cheats’ Was for Another Woman

Did you know that Carrie Underwood’s song “Before He Cheats” was really written for Gretchen Wilson?
That’s one of the little-known facts about the song that is revealed in the Secret History of Country Music, a new web series on YouTube. Host Ania Hammar also discovers that a real drunk stumbled into the shot during the filming of “Before He Cheats” and he made it past the editing room floor.
The song was a mega-hit for Carrie, who was scared to sing the song at first due to possible backlash, it went on to win a Grammy and a Country Music Award.
