File this under “tell us something we didn’t know”, but wish wasn’t the reality of interviewing for jobs: Good looking people are six times more likely to get a job interview than equally qualified but less attractive people. Ugh.

This new study claims researchers sent in applications to a bunch of different jobs and they included pictures, varying between sending a good looking guy or gal, and sometimes a less attractive person.

They found that the hotter folks got interviews at one out of every six jobs they applied for, and the less attractive people with the same qualifications only landed the job one out of thirty-three times! (the difference between men and women was even worse)

Don’t worry! As far as we’re concerned, in this digital age, resumes are sent electronically, so who’s asking for interviews face-to-face these days anyway?
