Don Cheadle Almost Had a “Fresh Prince” Spin-Off

You may not remember this, but Don Cheadle appeared on the fifth episode of “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” back in 1990. He played Ice Tray, a slightly more “street” friend of Will’s from back home in Philly.
And Don says things went so well that before the episode even aired, they wanted to give him a spin-off.
They even shot a pilot, but it didn’t get picked up. Interesting fact: They were going to call it “In the House”, a title that was eventually recycled for the LL COOL J series that ran from 1995 to 1999.
