George Clooney was hit by a car, Tuesday, as he rode his motorbike to a movie shoot in Italy.

Multiple reports say a Mercedes changed direction, and cut across Clooney’s path.  The car hit him, and launched the actor over the top of the motor-scooter.

TMZ reports that Clooney was going as fast as 60mph, on his scooter, when he hit the car’s windshield.  And it reports another scooter was involved, but only narrowly avoided getting hit.

Clooney was taken to a hospital, in Sardinia, with serious bruises, but has been discharged.

The Daily Mail reports that the 57-year-old suffered injuries to his arms, legs and pelvis.

Clooney and his wife, Amal, are on the island of Sardinia for the summer.  George is filming a mini-series titled Catch 22 for Hulu.

MEANWHILE, his friend Brad Pitt was spotted cycling – safely – away from a hotel where his children are staying with their mother (his ex-wife), Angelina Jolie.
