Hank Azaria Won’t Voice Apu on “The Simpsons” Anymore

Hank Azaria won’t be voicing the Indian American character Apu on “The Simpsons” anymore.  It’s not clear what’ll happen to him, but this looks like a step toward addressing complaints that the character is racist.

Hank says, quote, “What they’re going to do with the character is their call, it’s up to them, they haven’t sorted that out yet.

“All we agreed on is that I won’t do the voice anymore.  We all had made the decision together, we all feel it was the right thing and good about it.”
