Metra’s Heritage Corridor line which serves Romeoville, Lemont, Lockport and Joliet was cancelled all day Monday due to a freight train derailment that happened early this morning on the Canadian National Railway. Metra tracks are blocked both ways between Lockport and Willow Springs.

As of 6pm, there was no update on whether tracks will open open for tomorrow’s rush hour. Check with Metra for the latest details.

Passengers have been encouraged to use Rock Island Joliet , BNSF, and Southwest Service trains as alternative transportation.
