John Witherspoon or “Mr. Jones” from “Friday” Has Passed

Actor, John Witherspoon, died on Tuesday from an apparent heart attack at his home in the Los Angeles Area.
He was 77 years old, and it sounds like it wasn’t expected, because his family put out a statement saying they’re “in shock.”
John is probably best known for playing Ice Cube’s grumpy dad Mr. Jones in the “Friday” movies. He was expected to be back for the upcoming fourth installment, “Last Friday”.
He was also Pops on the TV show “The Wayans Brothers”, and the voice of Gramps on the animated series “The Boondocks”.
His films included “The Jazz Singer”, “The Hollywood Shuffle”, “Boomerang”, and “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka”.
