Labor Day is more than just mattress sales and an extra day off from work! It’s all about the American worker’s contributions to our country…and hotdogs.

- 594,000+ workers’ lives have been saved since the Occupational Safety and Health Act was enacted in 1970.
- It became a federal holiday in 1894 thanks to many of the Labor Unions of New York who also fought for weekends off, social security, vacation and eight-hour workdays.
