Massive 3,000 person IKEA Hide and Seek game thwarted by Police
How often do you come across a story while surfing the internet and you resist the urge to check it out – well, that’s why I’m here!
I find these things so you don’t have to!
DATELINE: Glasgow, Scotland
If you’ve ever been to an IKEA, you know how easy it is to get lost…no matter how many arrows they put on the floor. I’ve actually had panic attacks trying to get out of the one in Bolingbrook.
But for some, the typical 300,000 square foot store with its multiple levels provides tons of nooks and crannies throughout the acres of fake kitchens, bedrooms and closets for a massive game of Hide and Seek!
Last weekend, Scotland Police were called after being alerted that some 3,000 people on Facebook said they planned to mob the Glasgow store for an epic game of hide-and-seek. Five police officers remained at the IKEA store most of the day on Saturday, trying to determine whether suspicious-looking customers were browsing for the perfect spot to hide or genuinely pondering if a rug matched their living room.
IKEA says its stores cannot host hide-and-seek games because of health and safety issues and that’s hard if they don’t know where they are…I KNEW the people that work there don’t know where those arrows on the floor would take them either!
