Second Year of I-55 bridge work in Will County to Begin

If you traveled anywhere south of I-80 on I-55 last summer, you know that the roadwork around Arsenal Road and the backups were a nightmare!
Well, guess what? It all starts again this weekend. Now the work will start on the other side, however, I hope you know about the Zipper!
It is a dynamic merge system, in order to help manage congestion and reduce travel times through the work zone. That means taking turns merging into the open lane at the point the left lane is closed….or as I call it a POLITE DRIVER!
The crews are just doing the prep work the next couple of weekends – but it will be set in place March 16 through the fall.
