This Confrontation Could Have Been Anything BUT Neighborly

A woman named Candace has a neighbor who pulled some pretty late and pretty LOUD nights. She’s only lived in her new pad for a few months, and hadn’t met the late night party-person yet.  Until….

One night, the music didn’t stop until well after 4 am. Candace not only wrote a letter to her new neighbor. Since she couldn’t sleep, she wrote him a letter (that show’s she has a great sense of humor, too) and even baked him a pound cake.

Read her letter here. Her letter went viral, and she finally met her neighbor. Seems that his name is Tommy, he’s a music video producer, and sadly, lost his daughter in a car accident that year. Since Candace’s letter was laced with kindness and cake, her approach was much more neighborly–and successful!–than calling the cops, the landlord, or banging on the ceiling.

“It was a sweet and gentle reminder that we never know what folks are going through and it is always best to lead with kindness. When we can extend grace, we really should,” Candace posted on Twitter, also posting a picture of she and her new neighbor.
