With a giant cloud of charged particles on it’s way towards us from the sun (know in in scientific circles  as a coronal mass ejection (CME), we may have a rare light show. The particles are expected to arrive on Saturday, and we we may be able to see the aurora borealis, also known as the Northern Lights.

The geomagnetic storm is so strong that areas such as chicago and New York may be getting in on the light show.

Meteorologist Joe Charlevoix tweeted that the Northern Lights would likely be visible on Saturday night. “This is not a guarantee but conditions are favorable,” he said.
