You have heard of the old saying, “An apple a day keeps the doctor away?”

I’m no doctor, although I can play one on the radio, however I am supporting this new study where researchers found that the antibacterial properties in WINE specifically fights germs in the mouth that cause dental plaque and sore throats; killing 99.1 percent of the bacteria.

The study, published in the Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, found it wasn’t the acidity and alcohol concentration responsible for the antibacterial properties, but the compounds found in the wine.

Should it be a Sav Blanc or a Merlot?  Researchers found that it doesn’t matter if it is a red or white wine.

My advice is to make sure you stay away from the generic.
